Fragrance for brands launching their own scent

We make fragrance for fashion, beauty, lifestyle and creator-led brands launching their own scent, often for the first time. We explain each step before it happens, sample in two stages so nothing is a surprise, and build the product so it can later pass a retailer's audit when the brand moves from online into stores.

Babe Power can-shaped perfume bottles made for Missguided

A first fragrance is a packaging project

Most brands expect the scent to be the hard part. In practice the scent is chosen in a few rounds; the bottle, cap and box take most of the calendar. A brand that settles the pack early launches on time. We help you decide the order: whether to start from one of our ODM designs or make your own mould, which concentration fits your price, and which size to lead with.

A brand-defining bottle

When Missguided launched its first perfume, Babe Power, the idea came from designers drinking cola: the bottle became a can. We worked out the scent and colour with the team, made the can-shaped bottle, and later extended the line into bath and body. Babe Power launched in 2017 and is still sold at Superdrug and Target. The case page tells the story.

Two-stage sampling

First you approve the scent, blended in alcohol at your concentration, so you are judging only the smell. Then we make a full sample in your packaging so you can judge the finished product. There is a sample charge, refunded against your first order. Splitting the two stages stops a brand from paying for packaging samples around a scent it has not yet chosen.

Built to move into retail

Many brands start online and later sell to a retail chain. When that day comes, the retailer audits the factory. Our plant is SMETA 4-Pillar (Sedex) audited and has passed audits for retailers including NEXT, Carrefour and CVS, so the factory question is already answered. The quality page has the detail.

Shipping direct to customers

An alcohol perfume counts as dangerous goods by air. If your brand ships orders by air or parcel, alcohol-free formats such as our Body & Hair Mist remove most of that problem.

Your scent stays yours

If we develop a scent for you, it is yours and we do not sell it to anyone else. We sign NDAs, and we never show your designs to another customer.

Questions buyers ask

We have never launched a fragrance. Where do we start?

With three things: who will buy it, where it will be sold and the price on the shelf. From those we can suggest a product, a bottle and a concentration. Our OEM vs ODM guide is a good first read.

Can we ship our perfume by air to customers?

An alcohol perfume is dangerous goods for air freight and many parcel services. If you sell online and ship by air, look at our alcohol-free perfume and Body & Hair Mist.

How do samples work?

In two steps. First the scent: the oil blended in alcohol at your concentration, so you can judge the smell. Then a full sample in your packaging. There is a sample charge, which is refunded against your first order.

Will our scent be sold to other brands?

No. If it is developed for you, it is yours. We put that in writing before work starts.
